It feels strange to plan a cruise for next year while still recovering from our recent group sailing on the Disney Dream. But that's exactly where we are: building the 2027 Deaf Dreamers Disney Cruise from the ground up, learning from every wonderful (and chaotic) moment of our last group trip.

Here's what we know, what we're still deciding, and how to be part of it.

Why we're partnering with Heart Cruises

Hosting a Disney group cruise is a project. Hosting a Deaf group cruise with all the access pieces handled well — interpreter requests, communication kits, group excursions that work for signing parties — is more like a campaign. We didn't want to do it alone.

Heart Cruises is a BBB-accredited travel agency that has specialized in Deaf vacations and Deaf group cruises for years. Their expertise complements ours: we know our community, Disney's specifics, and what magic looks like for a signing family. They know group logistics, the deposit-and-block process, and how to keep a 100+ person sailing humming.

The 2027 sailing is officially co-hosted: Fairytale Dreamers brings the community and the Disney expertise; Heart Cruises brings the cruise-group infrastructure.

Where we are in planning

Decided

• Disney Cruise Line — yes (we love the access and the magic).
• Spring or summer 2027 — yes, narrowing to a specific date.
• U.S.-based homeport — for the shared ASL interpretation availability.

Still being decided

• Ship: Disney Wish, Treasure, or Fantasy from Port Canaveral (we lean Treasure for the brand-new feel + 7-night Eastern Caribbean experience).
• Specific sail dates — pending Disney's group-block confirmation.
• Excursion arrangements at Lookout Cay and Castaway Cay.

Why join the interest list now

The earlier we know the group size, the better blocks we can hold and the more we can negotiate on excursions and onboard meetups. There's no deposit required to be on the list — just your name, email, and roughly how many travelers in your party.

What to expect when planning your own piece

Once we lock dates, you'll book your stateroom either through us or Heart Cruises (we'll guide you to whichever flow works best for your party). From there:

• Deposit window — typically $250–$500 per person depending on stateroom category.
• ASL request window — submitted 60 days before sail date. We handle this on your behalf.
• Communication kit — requested at the same time. Visual alarms, TTY, amplified phone.
• Excursions — booked 75 days out. We'll arrange group options at the ports.
• Final payment — typically due 90–120 days before sailing.

Hearing community members and family — yes, you're welcome

This is a Deaf-centered cruise, not a Deaf-only one. Interpreters, hearing partners, children, parents, advocates, and friends are all part of why our last sailing felt so good. The community is the magic. Come.
